Mandy Jo Rounds Memorial Dog Park Announcement
Ground was broke in October 2025 with a grand opening planned for March 2026
In October of 2025 we achieved a major milestone for the Mandy Jo Rounds Memorial Foundation and the community of Blair as we broke ground on the Mandy Jo Rounds Memorial Dog Park. This special project will provide a dedicated place for dogs and their humans to exercise, socialize, and enjoy the outdoors together. It will be a tribute to Mandy’s lifelong love of animals.
The park’s fence was completed in January 2026, and a grand opening is set for March 20th, 2026.
A welcoming new community space
The dog park is being developed within Black Elk-Neihardt Park in Blair. It is a scenic community park known for its trails, picnic areas, and panoramic views of the region’s rolling hills.
What’s planned?
This facility will be Blair’s first public dog park, designed with both safety and fun in mind.
Key elements include
- Secure perimeter fencing to allow dogs to run off-leash safely
- Activity and agility features to keep dogs mentally and physically engaged
- Spaces where owners can relax, visit with neighbors, and build community connections
- A welcoming atmosphere for dog lovers of all ages
Honoring Mandy’s legacy
Mandy Jo Rounds was born and raised in Blair and devoted her life to the care and well-being of animals. Early experiences with wildlife and later years working with and training dogs shaped her passion and endeared her to many in the community. The Foundation exists to honor her memory and to continue her work supporting animals and those who love them.
How the project came together
The dog park is the product of years of fundraising, planning, and cooperation between the Mandy Jo Rounds Memorial Foundation and the City of Blair. Community members, local donors, and volunteers helped move this idea from vision to reality.
